The new format created in collaboration with Babyfoot and the TV2 broadcaster achieved a whopping 35.1% total share. In addition to the great share rating BINGO BANKO saw the number of TV viewers steadily increase throughout the show, with a positive curve.

BINGO BANKO is based on the classic game of Bingo everybody knows where numbers are picked out and great prizes are won! The difference is that each number is NOT drawn from a classic bingo bag or a machine but found in random, crazy and ridiculous ways in a live TV studio game show, that invites celebrities to compete in teams against each other as they attempt to win prizes for their fans and generate Bingo numbers for the viewers at home who get the chance to win fabulous prizes…Maybe!

Season 1  was the big winner at the recent 49th Rose d’Or Festival, Europe’s most prestigious entertainment TV awards, taking the prize as “Best of 2009″ (best show on television - scripted and unscripted), as well as the Rose Trophy for best reality show. The series also received a DGA nomination for Best Reality Competition Show.

“Big In Japan” received the prize for “Best Reality” and the main award, the Golden Rose for ‘Best of 2009 “. This is the first time ever a Danish TV format has won the prestigious golden rose.

In presenting the award for best TV show Anatole Taubman stated:

All the winners are the best in their categories. For the best of the best, the jury has chosen a show that feels like it’s bursting out of its category!

Is it a travel show? Yes

A reality show? Oh yes…

A game show? Definitely…

Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the category Best of 2009 is “I Survived a Japanese Game Show”!

The Rose d’Or is the international entertainment TV award festival held annually in Lucerne, Switzerland, and the goal has always been to reward originality, quality and creativity in entertainment. The Rose d’Or Golden Rose is one of the most important and converted awards in the TV industry.

“Big in Japan”, created and owned by the Danish production company Babyfoot has been sold in over 19 territories amongst others the U.S, U.K, Australia, Scandinavia, Germany, France, Holland, Italy and Spain.

The show is so far produced in five countries including the first time a Danish company has ever sold a TV format to one of the big U.S networks, ABC in the U.S, where the program goes under the title “I survived A Japanese Game Show “. ABC is set to broadcast the second season this summer. The biggest commercial channel in Sweden TV4 is currently showing its celebrity version with excellent ratings.

Babyfoot ApS is owned by David Sidebotham and Karsten Bartholin who are also executive producers of “Big In Japan”. Babyfoot has their next international TV format on its way to American TV screens and beyond with “X Bomb” which is sold to Reville in the U.S. “X Bomb” is a fun and unique dating show where overconfident guys try to impress a girl on National TV only to have their ex-girlfriends interfere which make things very tricky for the guys. “X Bomb” is distributed by Nordisk Film TV World.

The show is broadcast at 20:00 every Thursday night for a ten-episode run.
In TV4´s programmes nine Swedish celebrities are sent to Tokyo and thrown into a crazy Japanese game show with loads of ridiculous costumes and hilarious challenges. The celebrities range from the young hip-hopper ”Dogge”, Marie that has previously won ”X-Factor” to the 60 yrs old, experienced and much loved actor Johannes Brost.
The international hit format is sold in over 19 countries and has so far been produced in the USA, Norway, Greece, Denmark and Sweden. USA´s ABC is currently in production in Tokyo for their ten episode second season.
